Belize March 22, 2007 to  April 1 2007

Richard, Elizabeth, Alyssa and Danny head to Belize.  We leave March 22, 2007 2:00 AM Taca Airlines, LAX to Belize City.  We then head  to Caye Caulker, motis operendi  "Go Slow."   A small island about 45 minutes by boat ride from Belize City via water taxi.  We are staying in a small hotel called the Tropical Paradise,  a small hotel with 25 rooms  ranging from economy, what we stayed in, to beach front cabanas 30 feet from the waters edge.  They are extremely friendly here, but if you are expecting five star , go to another island.  The Tropical paradise meets our needs, clean comfortable and affordable , ranging between $40.00 to $75.00 US per night

Friday March 23rd 2007 - we have arrive and are extremely exhausted.  We check into the hotel and head to the beach to just chill and relax.  Have dinner and make it an early night. Dinner is Rasta Pasta,  home of the giant burrito.  Danny and Alyssa will not admit they are tired .  Danny almost falls asleep at dinner and  Alyssa became Bitchy girl..

Saturday March 24th 2007 - fully rested we rise have breakfast and take a walk thru town.  We decide to rent a golf cart and view the island , ending up in swamp land on the back side of the airport we finally get the cart un stuck we meet up a local who looks at us and says, " we would bring our cart back here we walk you guys have guts."

We made our way back to the main road Front street, Back street and Middle Street, all sand roads.  The slogan around town is , not shoes, no shirt, not problem.  People walk around barefoot. After walking around and checking our the various tour guides we book a Zip line canopy tour and cave tubing. What an amazing adventure,  below for the video of Alyssa and Danny on the zip line and photographs of Richard and Elizabeth.

Sunday March 25th 2007 - another early morning.  Angel meets us at the taxi dock at 6:15 AM.  We take the water taxi to Belize City and meet up with Carlos, our guide for the day.  We are joined by Graham and Greta on their honeymoon. Just a side note, Greta will be hiking from the Mexican boarder to Canada this April, 2007, talk about adventure.  First thing we do is head out of town to Amigos for Breakfast,  and meet the resident Red Macaw. Back in the van and go to the national park for Zip line and cave tubing.  The zip line in 85 ft above the ground, with six platforms.  According to Jose, the canopy guide, we are lucky it is not cruise ship day, otherwise we would be there with hundreds of people off the cruise ship.

Monday March 26th 2007 -  San Pedro Ambergris Caye, the opposite of Caye Caulker, a bustling little town we rent a golf cart, the common form of transportation on all the islands, and head out to Captain Morgan Resort and have a cocktail.  What a beautiful resort.

Tuesday March 27th 2007 - Finally Dive day, we do two local dives, Sunset and _____  out side the reef 80 to 90 ft deep.  We do our surface interval at "Shark Ray alley" part of the Hol Chan National park and enjoy al little bit of snorkeling.  there are hundreds of stingrays just swimming around, talk about intimidating, although very docile they swarm around like ants at a picnic, many in the group pet them.   we see a green moray eel, not happy to see us.  he is showing his teeth.   We meet a very nice couple on their honeymoon from Tasmania.  Tracy and Andrew convince us to do a night dive with them.  Israel, our dive master, takes us out to watch the sunset from the water  The night dive is somewhat intimating.

Wednesday March 28th 2007 we  are supposed to dive the "blue hole" but we over sleep and Richard still feels like he has water in his ear.  We spend the day on the beach and everyone gets sunburn
