It is the Eve of Christmas eve, and Carlos is feverishly trying to get finish with the carpentry work he is to complete this week and he gets it done. The new bow roller in installed, the new door we added for the D/C panel is in , the door we replaced on the old AC/DC is ready to go in, as soon as it is varnished, and cut for the new AC panel and we wind generator panel, etc. We have the new trim on the forward hatch, the new fuel tank is in with the shelf above it and Richard can start moving electrical. The plan is to move the refrigerator, freezer and air condition condensers / coils on to that shelf, along with the water heater, pumps, and wiring from the engine etc. Lets clean up the engine room. Then we will have a stainless bracket / shelf made to go on top of the engine to mount the generator amid ship. Slowly but surely the refit is getting there.

Well it is Christmas Eve, it is 75 degrees out side, fog on the water and no wind. We have a 12 LB prime rib in the oven and off to the boat we go. We had the boss and family come down for a afternoon motor around the harbor. Of course you have to go out to the channel marker and see the harbor seals The harbor was beautiful, with the clear bright sun, but as soon as we rounded the corner to go out the jetty, big fog, by the time we were are the edge of the channel visibility was 500 feet at best, so we did a lap around the seals took pictures and by compass course back into the harbor. We had a nice lunch at the Blue Water Grill, then came home to finish preparing dinner for the evening.
We had Prime Rib with spiral cut ham, garlic and rosemary roasted baby red and gold potatoes, some steamed vegetables Fresh baked peach and apple pie and of course pumpkin pie. Good friends and family.
Merry Christmas to all

We had big wind today ( 15 knots ) so we took Electre's out (Beneteau) 45F5 we race on , and took Randy and the crew out to practice for the Caribbean. The 6-9 knots of wind we get here in Newport is nothing from what I hear compared to the trades that the races are in. W eare racing the Heineken Regatta, BVI Spring Regatta, and Antigua sailing week.
WE even have sponsors this year from the construction business ( where I work to pay the bills) Portrait Homes, Dynamic Plumbing, Trimco Finish Carpentry, and Superior construction.
Any way, back to original topic. We went sailing had fun ( see scrapbook new years even sailing ) got back in just before the rain started. of courses all we had to eat was breakfast and the we went to the legion. ( don't go on an empty stomach) we had to many Keoke coffee's (brandy, Kalahua, and coffee). I was asleep by 7 PM
Happy new year, great boating and I will start a new log after the 1st of the year.
